More than 450 graduands are set to graduate from Otago Polytechnic | Te Pūkenga on Friday, 10 March.

Around 250 graduands will attend the Dunedin Town Hall ceremony, and more than 210 will graduate in absentia.

“Celebrating and acknowledging learners’ mahi is an important part of the learner journey and a proud moment for whānau, our community and staff,” says Jason Tibble, Executive Director, Otago Polytechnic.

“This year, our Graduation ceremonies are scheduled for March and September. This decision was based on feedback from a range of stakeholders.

“As our sector changes in an effort to improve outcomes for learners, this week’s Graduation is a timely reminder about why we do what we do – which is to empower people, through education, to improve their lives,” Mr Tibble says.

The Graduation ceremony will be held at the Dunedin Town Hall at 12.30pm.

Because of current roading and infrastructure work on George St, a new parade route will see graduands march from First Church, Moray Pl, to the Dunedin Town Hall.
