Mō te tūraka mahi  | About the role

The Residential Assistants are an integral part of our success at Te Pā Tauira.  

The RA team live onsite and are usually rostered 15 hours per week during evenings or over the weekend.

This is a unique role which at times can be challenging, although is also full of meaningful experiences. This role provides an opportunity to grow your leadership skills and gain transferable work skills, which will undoubtedly be useful for your future career. All of this happens while working alongside a diverse team of your peers who often turn into lifelong friends.
 

The RA key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Building and fostering relationships across all aspects of the Te Pā Tauira      Community
  • Providing peer, pastoral and academic support to residents.
  • Resident engagement through events, competitions, and meetings.
  • Contributing to admin and customer service-related tasks when required.
  • Upholding high standards of health and safety procedures and able to identify issues and escalate where necessary.
  • Any other adhoc duties.

As part of this role, you must be enrolled in full-time study at Otago for 2023.
