Covid-19

This section provides the latest OP Covid-19 updates, information and advice. You can also find links to relevant and useful websites in the right hand menu.

New Zealand moved to the Covid-19 Protection Framework from Friday 3 December (also known as the “traffic light system”). You can read about the Framework on the COVID-19 website and download this handy one-pager here.

Under the Framework, tertiary providers can:

  • Be open under the Green setting.
  • Be open with public health measures in place under the Orange setting.
  • Be open to those who are fully-vaccinated under the Red setting.

At present, you need to continue to wear a well-fitting mask, practice physical distancing, wash/sanitise your hands frequently, and stay home if you’re unwell.

From 5 April, vaccination evidence is still required for the following areas:

  • Otago Polytechnic student accommodation (staff, residents and visitors)
  • Health programmes covered by the Government Health Order.
