Student Committee

A sub-committee of Otago Polytechnic Limited Board

Have your say...we value your opinion!

Your opinions matter

Otago Polytechnic is here for our students. So, it’s important to us that your views inform our decisions and future direction.

Otago Polytechnic Limited’s Board (the Board) is the institute’s executive body - much like a Board of Directors or Trustees. The Board is keen to consider student opinions, so it has established the Student Committee as a way for you to share your views.

The Student Committee is a leadership opportunity that will provide you with an insight into governance processes.

How it works

The Student Committee consists of representatives from across programme areas supported by both Executive and Board member representatives. Monthly lunch meetings are chaired by a student who attends the Board meetings. Achievements include canvassing student views on the strategic plan, consideration of fee setting/budget priorities and providing input into construction of new facilities.

Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month - April, May, June, August, September and October

Next Meeting: 28 July at 12 noon in F209 - Puna Kawa (3rd floor of the Mason Centre)

Agenda: Otago Polytechnic Chief Executive Megan Gibbons will be at the next meeting talking about the changing nature of education so please come along for that discussion.

Contact: Ronda McLaren, Executive Assistant Learner Experience (ronda.mclaren@op.ac.nz)
