Amber Fraser-Smith
Amber Fraser-Smith has been teaching at Otago Polytechnic since 2015. She has worked on five summer school programmes, several short courses and NZCEL Levels 2, 3 and 4.
As well as teaching in her hometown of Dunedin, she has taught in the United Kingdom, Spain, Cambodia and Thailand. Before becoming a teacher, she worked as a journalist for 10 years. She also has a master's degree in educational psychology and loves using the knowledge she has gained about memory and learning in the classroom.
Her hobbies are yoga, dancing, gardening, reading, travelling, hiking, and psychology. One of the reasons she loves teaching ESOL is because when she can't travel, she feels that the world comes to her.
