Rachel van Gorp

I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Business, where I teach undergraduate programmes and strive to create an engaging learning experience for my learners.

I have a varied background that includes experience in banking, personal training, massage therapy, business ownership, mentorship, and volunteering. These experiences have provided me with a unique perspective that I bring to my teaching approach.

One of my particular interests is teaching and learning with learners who are neurodivergent. I hold a Master of Professional Practice degree focusing on Neurodiversity In Vocational Education: Facilitating Success. This degree demonstrates my commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of all my learners, regardless of their learning style.

Before joining Otago Polytechnic, I owned ABSolute Health & Fitness, which gave me valuable experience in business ownership and management. Today, I am dedicated to education and teaching, and I bring that passion to everything I do. I am proud to be part of the team at our school and look forward to making a positive impact on the lives of my learners.
