Art research submissions
Both our Master of Fine Arts and Master of Visual Arts programmes enable students to increase the professionalism of their art practice and their capacity for independent work. Students can specialise in any of eight specific studio areas: Ceramics; Electronic arts; Jewellery and Metalsmithing; Print; Photography; Painting; Sculpture and Textiles. The major component of students' research submission is an exhibition of original art work.
We are New Zealand’s oldest public art school, founded in 1870. Master of Fine Art dissertations prior to 2019 can be accessed through the University of Otago's Robertson Library.
