Airplane empennage2

Otago Polytechnic students are building a Vans RV12 aircraft. The aircraft is an all aluminium kit involving a lot of riveting, teamwork, and specific skills relevant to the aviation industry. Anyone with a passion for aviation, or an interest in the aviation industry / technology is welcome to participate.

The tail section, or empennage, was completed in 2018. We have made a start on the mid section, and thinking about the wings. So far 2500 rivets, 10,000 to go!.

The build is happening in the EPICentre, ground floor of A block, feel free to drop by and have a look. For more information, contact William Early, in the EPICentre.
