Study for FREE!
The Government has announced a new Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund (TTAF) that supports any domestic student to study/train for high-demand industries as New Zealand recovers from Covid-19.
The targeted areas include all of our programmes listed below - and they'll be fully-funded until December 2022.
What do I need to know?
- Additional costs such as calculators, textbooks or protective footwear are not covered by this TTAF initiative (and neither are your living costs) so you may want to apply for a student loan or allowance through Studylink to cover these costs if you're a full-time learner. Part-time learners are not generally eligible for financial help through Studylink but some support may be available depending on your circumstances. More information about additional costs/paying for your study can be found on each of our programme information sheets by clicking the programme names in the study areas below.
- Some of our programme durations will mean that your study crosses over into at least 2023. However, it's important to note that only your study during 2022 is covered through TTAF. This applies whether you are studying full-time or part-time.
- However, the Government is also running a funding scheme called Fees Free for domestic learners. This scheme normally pays for your first year of study if you’ve never been enrolled in tertiary study over 60 credits at Level 3 or higher in New Zealand. They have confirmed that TTAF does not impact on a learner’s entitlement to also access the Fees Free scheme.
- So, you’ll be covered by TTAF for your study during 2022 and, if you would have originally been eligible for Fees Free, you’ll be able to access that to cover additional costs. Fees Free only covers your tuition fees - just like TTAF, it doesn't cover additional costs or living costs. You can check your Fees Free eligibility here >
