Don’t have the academic requirements you need to enter one of our diploma- or degree-level healthcare programmes? No problem. By studying courses such as Function of the Human Body and an Introduction to Careers in Health, you will be well-prepared to apply for your chosen diploma or degree. This programme is made up of two qualifications - the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) with a health context and the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) with a health context.

Health Bridging Certificate (Level 4 only)

This Level 4 programme is the second part of our health bridging pathway for those that don't yet meet the entry requirements for our diploma- or degree-level health programmes. To enter directly into Level 4, you need to hold a New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) (our Level 3 Health Bridging certificate), or equivalent. If you don't hold that qualification, you'll need to do the Level 3 and Level 4 programme which starts in February.

DIPLOMA

New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (Level 5)

Enrolled Nurses deliver nursing care and health education across a range of health care settings under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Prepare to apply for registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) as an Enrolled Nurse through this diploma. Time spent in our clinical practice facility and on clinical placement will give you vital hands-on experience and allow you to put your theory into practice.

DEGREE

Bachelor of Nursing

  • Dunedin
  • Three years full-time; five years part-time (limited places)
  • Level 7

Become educated to the highest professional standards through both theoretical and practical learning. On successful completion of the Bachelor of Nursing, you will be eligible to sit the State Final Examination for registration as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand.

COURSES FOR REGISTERED NURSES

Competency Assessment Programme (CAP) for New Zealand Registered Nurses

Complete this theoretical and applied Certificate in Professional Practice for Registered Nurses and obtain a current Annual Practising Certificate. Acquire the most up-to-date skills and knowledge required to be part of a healthcare team in New Zealand.
