Don’t have the academic requirements you need to enter one of our diploma- or degree-level healthcare programmes? No problem. By studying courses such as Function of the Human Body and an Introduction to Careers in Health, you will be well-prepared to apply for your chosen diploma or degree. This programme is made up of two qualifications - the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) with a health context and the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) with a health context.
Health Bridging Certificate (Level 4 only)

This Level 4 programme is the second part of our health bridging pathway for those that don't yet meet the entry requirements for our diploma- or degree-level health programmes. To enter directly into Level 4, you need to hold a New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) (our Level 3 Health Bridging certificate), or equivalent. If you don't hold that qualification, you'll need to do the Level 3 and Level 4 programme which starts in February.
Bachelor
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

This exciting programme includes fieldwork placements and will lead to registration as an Occupational Therapist in New Zealand. It is also recognised by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. Our July intake is part-time only and two courses are available - Building Cultural Competence, and Human Mind and Behaviour. You will then complete the remaining Year One courses from February next year.
Postgraduate

Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy Practice

Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Practice in Health (Specialty)

This high-level programme has been developed specifically to enable both occupational therapists and non-occupational therapists to complete a postgraduate certificate. Deepen your theoretical knowledge to support your clinical reasoning, within the constraints of your practice environment, to ensure effective outcomes for clients of your services.
Master of Occupational Therapy
- Online with one block course at the beginning of the research process
- 18 months full-time; eight years part-time
- Level 9

These individual courses are available for both occupational therapists and non-occupational therapists and can be studied individually for professional development reasons. You will be awarded a Certificate in Proficiency upon successful completion or may choose to complete further courses towards a full postgraduate qualification.
