Matheson Brown

2016 Ambassador Award for Diploma in Outdoor Leadership and Management

Matheson has been involved as one of the class reps for the DOLM Year 1 crew. He did a great job of marketing our program and being a spokesperson – showing awesome enthusiasm and passion for what we do! He has a great love for the outdoors, is a quick learner and takes on every opportunity. This includes spending a lot of his time developing his personal skills and getting out in the field – and encouraging others to do the same. His experiences include heading off to Stewart Island and doing a 10 day tramp on his own during one of the holidays. He then created a video of this experience to share with others. Matheson has consistently promoted the programme to others, saying things like: “Before I came I researched every course in the country and this one looked like the best. Now that I'm here, it's the best.” He gets out on adventures in his own time, showing others in the community and industry that students from our programme are motivated and inspired by the outdoors.
