Don’t have the academic requirements you need to enter one of our diploma- or degree-level healthcare programmes? No problem. By studying courses such as Function of the Human Body and an Introduction to Careers in Health, you will be well-prepared to apply for your chosen diploma or degree. This programme is made up of two qualifications - the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) with a health context and the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) with a health context.

Health Bridging Certificate (Level 4 only)

This Level 4 programme is the second part of our health bridging pathway for those that don't yet meet the entry requirements for our diploma- or degree-level health programmes. To enter directly into Level 4, you need to hold a New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) (our Level 3 Health Bridging certificate), or equivalent. If you don't hold that qualification, you'll need to do the Level 3 and Level 4 programme which starts in February.

New Zealand Certificate in Avalanche Risk Management (Level 5)

  • Online with Wanaka-based practical
  • Twelve weeks full-time (ten weeks online, one week practical and one week reflection/re-assessment if required); part-time not available

Start on your path to becoming a Personal Trainer with this exciting new programme. Learn how to teach exercise, gain an understanding of human anatomy and physiology, and discover how the role of behaviour change can lead to lasting results for your clients. Successful completion will enable you to apply for registration as a gym instructor with REPs NZ (Register of Exercise Professionals New Zealand).

New Zealand Certificate in Exercise (Level 5)

Gain the skills and knowledge you need to become a Personal Trainer. With this hands-on qualification, taught by highly-experienced and industry-connected staff, you will discover how to plan, implement and evaluate exercise programmes. By also studying nutrition and behaviour, you will be fully prepped to work with clients in a holistic manner. Successful completion of this Level 5 Certificate will enable you to apply for registration as a Personal Trainer with REPs NZ (Register of Exercise Professionals New Zealand).

New Zealand Certificate in Introductory Snowschool Instruction (Applied) (Level 4) (Ski) or (Snowboard)

Learn about anatomy and physiology, relaxation and therapeutic massage, stress management and wellness promotion methods. Graduates may operate their own massage therapy business, or may find employment within the spa industry.
