Touchstone – atrium Mason Centre

As you enter the Polytechnic through the Mason Centre atrium, there is an invitation to touch the stone as you enter. A way to “clear the way for new thoughts and beginnings”, the touchstone is constructed from limestone from near Oamaru, basalt rock from Blackhead Quarry on the Dunedin coast, and pounamu, greenstone, from the west coast.
