Waka Whetū - Matariki Creative Showcase
Celebrate Matariki with us and explore the meaning behind this special time of the year.
This collaborative project was worked on by our third year design students, Tūhura Otago Museum, and Māori astronomer and primary researcher, Victoria Campbell.
Third-year Communication Design ākonga were led through Tori's research on southern tātai arorangi (astronomy), and tasked with developing:
- a series of Matariki-themed, short firms to be play in the planetarium
- interactive multimedia experiences and installations in the Beautiful Science Gallery, and
- branding and promotion leading up to the event.
