During the summer break, four of our Master of Applied Management students successfully completed internships in the logistics, hospitality, and tech sales industries, gaining valuable hands-on experience and industry insights.

Wendelin Romell interned at Cardinal Logistics, where he worked closely with the Transportation Department, Dispatch Team, and Inventory Team. Reflecting on his experience, he shared: "I gained firsthand knowledge of how logistics operations run efficiently and became familiar with Trifecta, the software used by the company, which further enhanced my understanding of logistics management."

Interning at Optimatech, Marlene Bejosano had the opportunity to develop critical sales and marketing skills. She highlighted the value of the programme, saying: "The internship offered a dynamic opportunity to work with the sales team, drive brand awareness, generate leads, and understand market trends. The mentorship, networking, and exposure to cutting-edge technologies have been invaluable in kickstarting my career."

At Auckland Harbour Suites, Tio Windry took on the role of Front Office Specialist, leveraging his background in account management and business operations. He shared: "Managing front-office operations, resolving guest concerns, and ensuring seamless service delivery have strengthened my adaptability in diverse industries. This experience has reinforced my commitment to operational excellence and continuous learning."

With a background in hospitality, Zienat Saleem Mir stepped into a sales and marketing role in New Zealand, an experience she found both challenging and rewarding. She said: " This is the right way to utilise our experience and gain exposure in various other segments of business. I highly appreciate the team’s active efforts in securing opportunities for students at AIC."

These internships provided our students with practical exposure, professional networking, and key industry skills—crucial stepping stones as they advance in their careers.
