Most Otago Polytechnic students are entitled to an Otago Polytechnic Students’ Association (OPSA)/ Otago Polytechnic (OP) Student ID card.

You can use this to access UNIPOL, Clubs & Socs, Student Job Search, the Robertson Library, OP computers, door access and much more…

Student Access ID Card

If you are not charged a Student Services Fee (Student Levy) when you enrol with us, you’ll be given a Student Access Card. This will be your library, door access and ID card.

TIP: You can pay a levy and upgrade your ID to include access to UNIPOL and OPSA Student Services.

Where do I get my Student ID from?

Drop in to the OPSA Office in The Hub at the Dunedin Campus.

Open hours 
Mon: 9am – 3pm
Tues: 9am – 4pm 
Wed: 9am – 4pm 
Thu: 9am – 4pm 
Fri: 9am – 3pm

Please note: Hours may vary during student holidays.

Photo guidelines

  • No hats.
  • No sunglasses.
  • Ensure your shoulders are covered.
  • Remember to smile!

What do I need to bring?

If you’re a new student

Please bring any form of photo identification such as a passport or drivers’ licence in case verification is requested.

If you’re a returning student

Please bring your old Student ID card if possible. You can use your old photo or have a new one taken. 

If you’re a distance student

Please email idcards@op.ac.nz with your details. 

We’ll need to know:

  • your full name and date of birth
  • your return postal address.

Please attach a digital copy of a passport style photo to your email.

  • Plain background. 
  • Head and shoulders only.
  • No sunglasses or hats.
  • Preferably 240 pixels high x 320 pixels wide in jpg format
