Celebrate Matariki on campus

Celebrate Matariki with events and activities, shared kai and connection on campus.

Matariki Hereka Waka is this year’s national Matariki theme, celebrating inclusion and encouraging people from all cultures and backgrounds to come together to learn, share and celebrate the Māori New Year.

From 20-24 July, our Māori Student Reps have organised a week of activities that reflect these values by creating opportunities for ākonga and kaimahi to connect through kai, cultural activities, learning experiences and whanaukataka.

The week acknowledges both Matariki and Puaka, which are significant to the Otago region, and provides a space to remember the past, celebrate the present and look forward to the year ahead together!
