As part of their Managing Projects course, students worked in small teams to identify a local not-for-profit organisation, understand its needs, and develop a project to support them. Over eight weeks, each team planned, sourced and assembled at least eight boxes of donated or brand-new goods — without using personal funds or having a set budget.
Along the way, students gained hands-on experience in real-world project management, including stakeholder communication, risk assessment, managing constraints and developing professional project plans. Students also rotated the Project Manager role within their teams, giving everyone the opportunity to develop their leadership skills.
During the final week of the course, the completed donation boxes will be on display alongside information about the organisations they are supporting. Come along and see how our students are turning classroom learning into practical projects that make a difference in our local community.
