We are excited to share with you the opportunity for learners/ākonga to be involved in a FREE 90-min Mental Health Wellbeing Course.
Workshop Content and Outcomes
A 90 minute workshop raising awareness on mental health and how to recognise if someone may be experiencing mental distress and strategies to support:

‘What is mental health’ | A brief introduction to holistic mental health using a simple and clear explanation of Te Whare Tapa Wha (Māori health model) ,and overview of common mental health challenges | Shared understanding of mental health and wellbeing and common mental health challenges people may experience |
‘How to recognise when someone may be experiencing a mental distress' | Explore signs that indicate someone may be experiencing a mental health challenge and discuss, strategies to approach the conversation | Understand the signs that someone may be experiencing mental distress, and how to approach the conversation |
Explore strategies to maintain wellbeing | Using Te Whare Tapa Wha & Te Pae Māhutonga to explore strategies to maintain wellbeing and provide some support using a holistic model of health | Increased confidence in using Te Whare Tapa Wha & Te Pae Māhutonga to explore strategies to maintain wellbeing |
What does it involve?
- It will require you to participate and complete an online Pre Survey, 90-minute Mental Wellbeing Course and then a Post Survey - total of 2 hours.
