Team overview
The Employability Centre brings together three teams:
EduBits
EduBits
digital micro-credentials are small qualifications that verify expertise earned on the job using particular skill sets. Micro-credentials are recognised internationally as an effective mechanism to train for emerging skill sets and to improve organisational productivity. They are particularly valuable for people who are acquiring their qualifications in the work place and for just-in-time learning. EduBits Operations manage our EduBits digital micro-credentialing platform and coordination of global contractor resources to create and achieve scalable delivery, development of EduBits-incorporated training schemes, and fulfilment of EduBits needs for individual learner opportunities (B2C) as well as those for significant employers (whose B2B relationships are managed by the Business Development team).
Otago Secondary-Tertiary College (OSTC)
With
OSTC
campuses in Dunedin and Cromwell, we facilitate the secondary to tertiary pathway by offering practical, career-focused learning for students in Years 11-13 who want to get a head start on life after school - helping them develop hands-on skills and experience to prepare for further study, on-the-job training and employment.
Learner Capability
Employers tell us they look for potential employees with transferable skills who can prove their work ready capability.
Learner Capability
help make work ready skills more explicit via an experiential learning process with embedded capabilities, and a capability profile that learners build over time. For learners, this means more relevance and context for their learning. For employers, a clearer understanding of the work readiness of their potential employee. Our focus for 2019 is to integrate learner capability across all programmes of learning at Otago Polytechnic.
