Find out what your horse means when he "smiles" and uses other facial expressions.
This course is aimed at horse owners, riders and people who work or volunteer with horses. It will cater for pony owners, parents, RDA volunteers, carers, trainees, students and people wanting to be able to recognise obvious and subtle displays of horse behaviour, including signs of pain.
This course is subject to minimum and maximum numbers.
Please note: This course, along with our other equine short courses, is run to demand throughout New Zealand. We hold waiting lists for many areas. If you or your club/organisation are interested in hosting any of our equine short courses in your area, please contact Steph.Mann@op.ac.nz
Entry requirements
- You do not need a background in horses for this short course.
- While there are no prerequisites to enrol in this course, you should have a good grasp of the English language.
- For those who are completing this course online, you will need internet access via computer or smart phone.

Assessment
Participants are eligible for an Otago Polytechnic Certificate of Attendance at the end of the session, which includes an open book assessment.
