Christine Smith – painting and plaque

Christine Smith worked as a lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery from 1985 to 1991. She left to become the Principal Nurse and Midwife and Balclutha Hospital. In this role she continued to maintain close ties with Otago Polytechnic.

In recognition of the significant part the School played in Christine’s life, her family gifted the painting by Dunedin artist Pamela Brown to the School in 1995. 

The painting remains on the wall in the School of Midwifery in the H Block, with an identifying plaque.
